Dear Reader,

At Occam Design, we believe that developing a medical device is far more than just creating a product. It’s really a chance to transform your vision into reality—a vision you know embodies creativity, a vision that looks to solve health problems and improve quality of life, and even a vision that can spark change across industries. Your vision is a powerful one, and making it a reality is a chance to change the world for the better.

We know full well the scale of your dedication: the resources, time, energy, and passion you pour into bringing your idea to life. We recognize the risks you take on and fully understand the immense pressure you face to stay on budget and on schedule. We personally grasp what developing a medical device means to you—it’s your passion, your sense of purpose, and a catalyst for reaching the noble goal of improving health outcomes.

We know because we feel the same.

To you, it means more.

We often look to innovators who came before us for inspiration. Those dedicated pioneers demonstrate how passion and grit lead to success. We look to their examples because they show us exactly what happens when you care deeply about what you do. In 1903, two groups of innovators were racing to achieve the first manned flight. Samuel Pierpont Langley, with a $50,000 grant from the Department of Defense, led a well-funded team of some of the brightest minds of the time just outside of Washington DC. The media spotlight followed Langley and his team, making them the talk of the town at our Nation’s Capital, and across the country. All eyes were on them.

Meanwhile, a few hundred miles away in humble Dayton, Ohio, the Wright Brothers were quietly working on the same goal. Using only the modest earnings from their local bicycle shop, Orville and Wilbur Wright assembled a small team with no formal education. Yet, on December 17, 1903, it was the Wright Brothers who managed to take the first successful flight. Their 59 seconds in the air changed the world forever.

Why did the scrappy team from Dayton, OH succeed where a well-funded and celebrated team, with full support from Washington, did not? Because, for the Wright Brothers, it meant more. It wasn’t about fame or financial gain. They and their team took their mechanical knowledge and made it work for them, translating their vision to reality without grandstanding or showboating. Their mission was to create something that would leave a lasting impact and change the world for the better, and they did just that.

To them, it meant more.

At Occam Design, we have gathered a team that bends their experience and expertise to the task of medical device design and development because they are personally invested in improving the world. Because of our team’s dedication, we are uniquely suited to recognize the significance of delivering a high-quality medical device that truly improves patients’ lives. We understand the importance of developing new novel devices to move the healthcare industry forward.

To us, it means more.

To fulfill our goal of an industry filled with novel, helpful medical devices, we work hand-in-hand with individuals and companies to help them transform their medical device vision into a concrete reality. Our team of experts can facilitate every step of the design and development process, leveraging extensive experience in design, manufacturing, meeting deadlines and budgets, team coordination, QC, regulatory compliance, and bringing a product to market to serve our partners in fulfilling their goals.

Partnering with Occam Design means partnering with a team for whom medical device design and development means more, so much more, than just a bottom line. We believe in the power of innovation to shape a healthier future, and we are committed to developing products that make lasting impacts on people’s lives.

Together, we can create a healthier future, one innovation at a time.

Sincerely,

The Team at Occam Design
